About Nafisa

Jewellery made by Nafisa combines an air of elegance with a touch of frivolity that makes it stand out from the crowd. These are not ‘new age’ earthy pieces, they are up to date stylish designs for the fashion conscious urban woman.

Nafisa always loved chunky jewellery in preference to dainty pieces. But jewellery she was given was always too big and bulky for her wrists, and the chains never snug enough on her neck. So Nafisa began to develop a range of her own.

In her initial designs Nafisa began working with semi-precious stones chosen for their individual qualities and healing properties. The essence of Nafisa’s Indian background is encompassed in her jewellery. Her deep rooted beliefs in natural remedies and the powers of crystals and stones inspired the true spirit of her unique creations. Indeed her name means ‘precious’ in Arabic.

After tearing up old beaded jewellery and combining diverse colours, materials and textures, Nafisa’s individual style began to emerge, starting with her twist on the chunky bracelet. The bracelets proved to be a real hit with friends, leading to a list of orders and a quest for more materials and designs.

Over time, Nafisa’s designs have developed with different materials to include crystals, and a variety of fabric. She now works from the idyllic surroundings of her river houseboat, which provides a tranquil environment and a free flow of inspiration.

The current collection captures Nafisa’s unique talent for combining diverse materials into chic, fun, sexy and striking jewellery. Each collection comprises limited edition pieces, one off pieces and commissions. Each commission is tailored to your individual requirements established following a personal consultation with Nafisa.
